Recognizing and strengthening the role of Community Seed Systems is the key to food security and food sovereignty for building community resilience.

The Lun Bawang and the Lundayeh inherit the practices of saving their seeds for subsequent planting cycles. It is a common practice to share their saved seeds with other members in or outside the community through mutual understanding and respect for the tradition. In particular, the practices of seed saving, exchange and sharing are linked to the culture and tradition of living and socializing through the conservation of their well-known heirloom padi Adan.

LABAH is set out to further work and engage with indigenous communities to strengthen the importance of CoSS through the Inisiatif Rizab Benih Komuniti (IRBK)- Community Seed Reserve Initiative and the Borneo Highland Seed Initiative.
